Mother Nature is truly wondrous as we unravel more gems through our travels. There are many nooks and treasures hidden in the corners of the Earth, Loch Ard Gorge being one of them. A three hour drive from Melbourne and just a three-minute drive from the Twelve Apostles lies this beauty.
Loch Ard Gorge is named after a shipwreck that took place back in 1878. The feeling of being here was surreal and, literally and figuratively, took our breath away. The way of feeling like a tiny micro-being amongst a grand escapade where you see indescribable rock formations and arches that naturally formed over the years. Prepare to be blown away.
Everything about this visit lived up to its hype. Though it is lesser known than its neighbor the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge is just as stellarly breathless in its unique way.
